There are so many ways to show your support!
Join the Mailing List:
This one is a no-brainer but I find people really underestimate the extraordinary impo'tance of the mailing list. Now, I admit that part of it is I'm too darned lazy to call all 5,000 people in every city that wants to know I'm coming. (Yes that's wishful thinking but so what? Who are we without our dreams?) Even if it's only a couple hundred, it's still hard to keep in touch with everyone...especially when there's so much other work to do to pull off a show. So the primary benefit of you being on the mailing list is that's the best way for you to know what's going on with me, but there's another benefit as well. Did you know that some venues actually request the number of people on your maling list for a given area when their considering booking you? 'Tis true...Now, it's also true that I could just lie and tell 'em 5,000 people are just dyin' to come out, but then my impressive 200 attendees would look pretty paltry, wouldn't ya say? Really, it's just too darned easy, and this way you'll always be in the know.
Purchase a CD:
This is pretty self explanatory. I wish I could give everyone this music because it seems like a crime to ask people to pay to listen to you...I mean, if that were the natural order of things, shouldn't the therapsist pay their clients? But the fact of the matter is my prime directive is to share these little songs and this little recording with as many people as possible and, oddly enough, that costs $$ bills, yo. Plus, my mom would kill me if I didn't make at least some of the money back on what it took to produce this thing. I know, moms right? Go figure! So buy a CD. It's good music, I swear... And I'm not just saying that 'cause my mama told me to....
Purchase Merchandise:
Ok. It's true that I only make a couple of bucks off of these items, but more importantly, everyone who purhcases one of my colorfully fashionable items gets to become a human billboard for the LL cool P. (AKA the Lilli Lewis Project). That's sometimes worth a lot more than the cheddar 'cause it let's people know that you like me enough to wear my name across your chest...Now if that's not love ya'll, I don't know what is.
So check out the goods. We have a variety of quality products custom designed with special care as a gift from me to you...and then back to me I guess...Well ok, you get the point.
Make a Donation:
Already have a CD and are looking forward to the next one? Wanna give a few bucks but don't want any extra crap around the house? Can't stand our music so much that you'll pay us to shut the hell up? All of these cravings can be satisfied simply by clicking on one of the following links: (Note: This requires that you have or setup a FREE PayPal Account.)
Sponsor 50 CDs:
Due to the miracles of modern technology, independent artists such as myself are now able to press "short runs" of our products as needed without having to shell out the thousands of $$$ it once took to get the music to the people. Although our ultimate goal is to secure ample distribution, this "short run" thing works out great when you're mainly distributing the goods at shows and out of your trunk. Still, in order to book shows and draw enough attention to our project, many of these precious little pieces of plastic love are lost to the often dark void of media people and booking agents. Grrr. Since we don't get to sell all that we press, it's sometimes tough to come up with the dough to make new ones. I'm sure you see our dilemna.
Lucky for us, there are some super cool people who have been willing to support us by sponsoring a "short run." This has worked out so well that we thought we'd make it easier for the whole "ONE SOUL MANY COLOURS" family to follow suit, if they so desired. SOOO, if you'd like to join that club of crazy beautiful people who have an extra $165 to donate to the great cause of spreading some good, good, good vibrations across the globe by way of the LLP, please click here. (Also requires PayPal.)
Suggest a Venue:
Cool. Another free but invaluable way to help out. We haven't been to every city and we can't always tell the best venue for us from what we read online or in our little Indie Booking Bibles. Here's where you come in. All you have to do is drop us a note that says "I live in Hoboken and I just went to this awesome little ice cream joint that loves impassioned, jazz based acoustic soul singers. The name of the place is Joe's Jamocha Juke Joint... you should give 'em a call." You can go so far as to ask someone on staff who handles booking and get a name and number... or even if you just pick up the pack of matches as you leave the joint... You'd be surprised how incredibly helpful this can be.
Offer a Service:
Do you own a business that could help us out with some essential services relatively hassle free? Travel agents who know how to get good deals on flights, print shop owners or employees that can offer great rates on printing programs and posters...graphic designers who wanna help put together a flier. Caterers, indie radio hosts, photographers, videographers, professional back scratchers...whatever you do, we could probably find a use for you 'cause let me tell ya, it takes a village, people... It can be great advertising for your business and could make all the difference for the success of one of our great adventures... So join the team and give knowing that we love to give back! Oh yeah....
Offer Housing:
If you had any idea how crappy the showers were at some of the hotels we've patronized, this would require no explanation. It's tough being on the road with no place to lay your head sometimes. And I think you'd be surprised at how low maintenance musicians can be. All we usually need is an empty patch of carpet...and maybe some coffee in the morning (though I, myself, am not really a coffee drinker.) In return, we thank you at the show and make you feel like a star... Ok, so that may not be the greatest incentive but we do go out of our way to compensate for you generosity. This is an especially reasonable deal when I'm doing the solo, sensitive singer/songwriter thang. I'll do your dishes and offer GREAT conversation (or so I'm told.) So let me know if you've got a little extra space in heart and home for the likes of me.
Refer a Friend:
Ok. Here's the logic behind this one: You like us. You have friends. You have things in common with your friends. Your friends may indeed like us. See? I know it's crazy but it just might work. I know I wrote/sang that song for you and only you but please don't put us in your back pocket just to take us out on a rainy day. Share the love. Let others know what we're doing 'cause we probably won't be on the radio or MTV any time soon. You don't have to build a street team...but an e-team or water cooler team would be great.
Offer Kind Words:
This can make or break the experience for any artist. We hate feeling like a tree in the forest...the proverbial 'empty' forest that is. We like to feel like we're not just self-serving sensitive artists that would go back to our day jobs were it not for our raging egos and our sick commitment and devotion to the integrity of our artitistic vision. We pour our hearts out for a living and often suffer great abuse because of that... but one sincere word or act of kindness from time to time makes the whole thing worth it. We feel like we're giving. If you feel you're receiving, please let us know.
You're the best! We humbly and sincerely THANK YOU for your support!
