Lilli Lewis grew up on a dirt road outside of Athens, GA where she has been writing music since the age of three. She is an award-winning singer/songwriter, a favorite among contemporary women's solo a cappella, a composer, an opera singer, classical pianist, and a self-proclaimed rocker wannabe, in no particular order of importance.

The Promised Land is the latest of six solo recordings, among which “Out From Yonder" won regional finalist for the acclaimed Mountain Stage NewSong Competition, and runner-up for "Best World/Folk Album" for the 2009 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Lilli lives in Hammond where she records, produces, and performs with the indie-rock band, The Shiz.

Multi-instrumentalist Liz Hogan (guitar, harmonica) has played music all of her life. A native of Hammond, Liz graduated from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and Art, and earned her undergraduate degree in History from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. She recorded her first solo EP Learnin’ to Pray in 2006 and is co-founder of local indie-rock band, The Shiz. Liz and Lilli have been making music together since 2004, debuting at Atlanta's famed Music Midtown Festival. Their collaborations have spanned genres from jazz and soul to folk-rock. They released their first collaborative LP "Where We Stand," in September of 2009. After travelling the country for several years, Liz now lives in Hammond, where she teaches guitar, coaches U-11 girls soccer, and is a licensed EMT.

A native of Hammond, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Robin (violin) holds a degree in instrumental music performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. Before focusing primarily on percussion studies, Andrew studied violin under the guidance of Dr. Yakov Voldman. Along with performing in ensembles such as the LPO, BRSO, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, he also holds the position of percussion instructor for St. Amant High School, the state's largest public high school band program.

Chalmette, Louisiana’s Jordan Beard (bass) graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in General Studies with a concentration in Music. Beard put down his trumpet to hold it down on the bass for his three current bands: The Gibsons, Upward Call, and Redemption Family, along with a host of guest appearances. Jordan currently lives in Central, LA.

Wade Hymel (drums, percussion) has been playing music since he was born. He started on drums, but has since expanded to play pretty much any instrument he can get his hands on. To Wade, music is life, and he plays whenever and wherever possible. Wade is the drummer for ‘Bout it Brass Band, and plays bass and drums in The Shiz. He recently recorded his first solo LP, scheduled to be released in 2012, and can be found keeping time at his local Open Mic Night.

The Promised Land family is vast and varies from city to city, but other collaborators include flutist/composer Nicole Randall Chamberlain, percussionist Sara Craig, and bassists Rebecca Green and Alan Craig.
